When he set out to open his first sunglass and optical specialty shop back in 2004, Sunglass Optic Studio, Dave Bauman knew what he wanted: an independent store providing unique sunglass and eyewear designs located right in his neighborhood. Being a lifelong sunglass and eyewear fanatic himself, he wanted to provide the Summerlin area with the highest quality optical brands, along with the best service in an alluring atmosphere.

Daren Gray's career in optics started over 20 years ago where he cultivated his optical skills in New England.  While on a vacation to visit some family in Las Vegas he recognized an opportunity to create a more fashion-forward and technology based practice. Daren quickly established a strong reputation in the local community as well as in the industry with his ability to identify the next fashion trend as well as partnering with the most exclusive eyewear manufacturers.  I set out to create an environment where my associates and I could provide unmatched customer service and unrivaled optical collections.  It's important to me that my clientele receives compliments on their eyewear as a majority of my business is referral based.

In addition to helping brands establish themselves in Las Vegas, Daren continues to consult many premiere optical companies on developing lens technology, frame design and help them create RX standards in the sunglass industry.We periodically test out products before they are released to the public, which helps us select the most comfortable, optically correct and fashionable designs.

Daren enjoy spending time in New York, Paris, Italy, Germany and many other markets searching out sustainable, cutting edge designs. He has hand selected, designed and modified eyewear for many celebrities including Elton John, Bono, Shaq, Kix Brooks, Michael Clark Duncan, Charles Oakley, Don Cheadle and members of Duran Duran.  

Sunglass Optic Studio is stronger than ever as has become the leading edge for Summerlin and the Las Vegas' sunglass and optical scene. We introduced the concept of fashion eyewear to Summerlin and have since maintained the highest of standards in continually striving to give the best the industry has to offer. In fact, Sunglass Optic Studio continues to be the only luxury sunglass and eyewear specialty store in the Summerlin area.

The store opened its doors within the highly regarded Center Pointe Plaza at the heart of Summerlin. We have been the first to introduce many optical lines to Summerlin such as Cartier, Blinde, ic! berlin, SALT., Tom Ford, Alain Mikli, FRED, and many more.

We hand select each and every sunglass and optical frame in our extensive inventory and choose only the highest quality frames for our customers and friends.
